BOTBOT is a clerking platform for barristers' chambers in England and Wales, operated by BOTBOT (botbot.uk). Accounts are provisioned by your chambers: there is no public sign-up, and the service processes professional practice data on behalf of chambers.
Your name, professional email address and role; your professional profile (year of call, practice areas, panel memberships); court hearing and diary information supplied by your chambers, your calendar, or published court lists; accommodation requests you submit; and, if you enable notifications, a device push token. We do not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers or analytics profiles, and the app contains no advertising or third-party tracking.
Data is stored in the United Kingdom (database and hosting in London regions, encrypted in transit and at rest). Push notifications are delivered through Expo and Apple or Google notification services; notification content is limited to dates and request statuses and never includes case details. Where AI features assist clerks (for example suggesting cover), requests are anonymised before processing and no defendant information is included.
Your information is visible to your own chambers (clerks and colleagues) according to role-based access rules. We do not sell data or share it with third parties except the infrastructure providers needed to run the service (hosting, database, email and notification delivery), each bound by their own data processing terms.
Data is retained while your chambers uses the service and removed on instruction from your chambers or when an account is deleted. You may request access, correction or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us or your chambers administrator.
You can delete your own account at any time, from Account in the app or on the website. Doing so removes your sign-in, any mobile number you shared, your push tokens and your calendar feed. Your chambers continues to process the diary and listing record held against your name, as controller of that record.
