Deleting your BOTBOT account

Last updated 30 July 2026

Before you delete

Please speak to your senior clerk first. BOTBOT is how your chambers sends you your diary, your court lists and any cover arrangements, so chambers will need to agree another way of getting that information to you before you lose access.

How to delete your account

In the BOTBOT app, open your diary, tap Account at the top of the screen, then Continue to delete my account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. On the website, the same option is under Account in the sidebar.

If you can no longer sign in, email support@botbot.uk from the address your chambers holds for you, or ask your senior clerk to make the request on your behalf. We will action it within 30 days and confirm by reply.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in credentials and every active session. You cannot sign in again.
  • Any mobile number you chose to share, and your sharing preference, so you are removed from the in-app directory.
  • Push notification tokens for your devices, so alerts stop.
  • Your personal calendar feed subscription, which stops updating.
  • Your preferred form of address.

What your chambers retains, and why

Your chambers will continue to use BOTBOT to manage its diary and listings, including hearings recorded against your name, cover arrangements and any accommodation requests already made. Your name is retained for that purpose, because it is how a hearing is identified in the chambers' own diary.

That record belongs to your chambers, who are the data controller for it, not to BOTBOT. Deleting your account ends your access and your personal data within the service; it does not erase the chambers' professional record, which they retain under their own retention policy and their obligations to the court and to lay clients. If you want that record erased as well, that is a request to your chambers, and we will act on their instruction.

Contacts already saved by colleagues

If colleagues have used the contact sync to save your number into their own phone, that copy sits on their phone and BOTBOT cannot remove it. You would need to ask them to delete it.

Can it be undone

No. If you want to use BOTBOT again afterwards, your chambers can set you up with a new account, which starts empty of personal settings.
